New About Megan
Hi, I'm Megan
Menopause Nutritionist & Health Coach
Before menopause became my work, it was my lived experience.
I remember sitting in a conversation with work colleagues and suddenly realising I had forgotten their names… and even what we were talking about halfway through a sentence.
I felt embarrassed and disconnected — like I wasn’t performing the way I used to.
What no one could see was that I had been barely coping for months.
I wasn’t sleeping. I was waking constantly with hot flushes. My mind felt foggy. My energy was gone. And I felt like I was moving through thick, heavy air just to get through the day.
I didn’t feel like myself anymore.
And I didn’t understand what was happening.
Finding a different way
Through my own health journey, I began to understand that menopause wasn’t something I could simply push through.
I needed to support my body differently.
I started focusing on the foundations of my health – sleep, stress, nutrition, movement, rest and emotional wellbeing, and, importantly, I began to see how connected they all were.
Slowly, things began to shift.
My energy returned. My mind became clearer. I started sleeping better.
And perhaps most importantly, I started to feel like myself again.
That experience changed the direction of my life and ultimately led me to create Healthy Balance Nutrition.
Today, I help other women navigate the transition I wish I had understood sooner.
Science, experience and practical support
I’m not here to give you another list of things you should be doing.
There is already plenty of menopause advice out there.
My role is to help you understand what is happening in your body, what actually matters, and what you can realistically do about it.
My approach combines:
Science
A strong foundation in biology, nutrition and evidence based menopause education.
Lived experience
I understand how disorienting it can feel when your body changes and you no longer feel like yourself.
Real life application
Practical strategies that work around busy lives, family, work and everything else you already have going on.
Because menopause isn’t lived in a textbook.
It’s lived in busy mornings, broken sleep, long workdays, family responsibilities and the mental load of caring for everyone else.
You don’t need to do everything.
You need to know what matters most for you and have the confidence and support to put it into practice.
That might mean looking at your nutrition.
Or your sleep.
Your stress and recovery.
The way you move.
Your relationship with food and your body.
Your emotional wellbeing.
Or simply understanding what is happening so you can make more informed decisions about your health.
I don’t believe in quick fixes, rigid plans or trying to overhaul your life overnight.
I believe in small, sustainable changes that work with your body and your life, not against them.
Why I do this work
I know what it feels like to wonder:
Why is my body suddenly behaving differently?
Why aren’t the things that used to work working anymore?
What am I actually supposed to do now?
And I know how much easier it becomes when you finally understand what is happening.
That’s what I want for the women I work with.
To move from confusion to clarity.
From overwhelm to understanding.
From trying harder to working with their body.
And ultimately…
To feel like yourself again.
Because you are not broken.
You are in a season of change that requires a different way of caring for yourself.
My Education
I bring a strong scientific and nutrition background to my work, alongside specialised training in women’s health and menopause.
